Kick Back Comedy book the best comedians on the comedy circuit in London and around the UK. They bring top class stand up comedy shows to Guildford in The Boileroom. All comedians are professional comics that have worked at all the major comedy clubs; as well as on TV. The night caters for all types of comedy in order to tickle your fancy one way or another.

The team works extremely hard to ensure that they deliver unforgettable comedy experiences in Guildford.

You need to be 18 or above to attend these shows.

The Twelfth Night at Hatchlands Park

Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night is coming to Hatchlands Park on Sunday 23 August.

The classic romantic comedy features an all-male cast of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men set against the backdrop of the 18th century Hatchlands house.

The audience should bring their own seating and light refreshments will be available.

The play starts at 7pm.

Tickets for adults are £17, £8 for children and £40 for family tickets (2 adults and 2 children)

The Art of Bedlam: Richard Dadd

The Watts Gallery in Compton is exhibiting The Art of Bedlam by Richard Dadd until 1 November, 2015.

Dadd was one of the most talented artists of the early Victorian period, making his name with imaginative Shakespeare images.

Despite later suffering from severe mental illness and spending much of his career in psychiatric hospitals, Dadd continued to create beautiful and haunting pictures including masterpieces such as The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke.

Tickets are £7.50 for adults, £3.75 for concessions and free for children.

Guildford Lido's Open Air Cinema 2015

The Guildford Lido is projecting outdoor movie classics this summer for two nights in August.

The swimming takes place as usual from 7pm to 8pm and the screenings will start from 8.30pm.

Films include Mamma Mia on Saturday, 22 August and Jaws on Sunday, 23 August.

There will be also be swimming, music, fancy dress, bar and food by Burrito Loco.

International Garden Photographer of the Year

The International Garden Photographer of the Year is coming to the Guildford House Gallery this summer.

The touring exhibitions are selections of winning photographs from Exhibitions 7 and 8 and take place throughout the year having been display in the UK and around the world.

The exhibition will run from 27 June to 6 September, between 10am and 4.45pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 4pm on Sundays.

There will be free admission to the event as part of the Guildford Summer Festival.

The Guildford Farmers’ Market is held on the first Tuesday of every month in the historic cobbled High Street. Buy fresh produce straight from the source as over 50 local farmers and producers come to town. This seasonal produce is not only micro–biotic but also comes with the chance to try and ask questions about growing, rearing, manufactures and cooking methods.

Sample fresh meat, fish, cheese, eggs, fruit, vegetables and breads, enjoy a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, baked goods, pickles, chutneys and herbs, plus organic produce, farm BBQ, plants and local crafts.

'Wild Calling' at DSWF Gallery

Sue Payton’s Red Wall exhibition ‘Wild Calling’ is on display at the DSWF Gallery throughout June.

Sue studied science at University put was a painting given to her by a family friend inspired her to pick up her brush again and set about teaching herself to paint landscape in watercolour.

Oil paintings were the next step for Sue and it was this natural progression which brought her to painting wildlife, and she hasn’t looked back since. Last year, she had two of her paintings selected to hang in the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art. Sue is also a member of the Association of Animal Artists and the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society.

Photography Competition in aid of the Forget-Me-Not Dementia Fund

The Royal Surrey County Hospital’s Charitable Fund wants happy snappers to capture Surrey's majesty this summer.

The competition is to mark Dementia Awareness Week (18 May- 24 May), and the 12 winning images will be used in a limited edition 2016 calendar. Entries should be sent as an email attachment to royalsurreyphoto@gmail.com

Please note: Files should be a jpg of between 1mg and 3mg and may be in colour or black and white.

Each entry requires a title and should represent the theme - “Royal Surrey: Our county at its most majestic”. All images may be used by the charity.

Armed Forces Day

There will be a service at Guildford Cathedral, a parade in Guildford High Street, and a spectacular show at Stoke Park with music and entertainment to commemorate Armed Forces Day.

Guildford will be the focus for the whole country, helping local people and the wider community to thank everyone working in our armed forces.

Following a special 9.30am service in Guildford Cathedral there will be a grand military parade at 11.30am, starting from the bottom of Guildford High Street to Stoke Park. Hundreds of personnel from the Royal Navy, Army and the Royal Air Force will join cadets and veterans on parade.

No tickets are required to watch the parade or enter the Stoke Park event. There will be a public ballot for the Cathedral service as places are limited.

The spectacular show at Stoke Park will have stalls and static displays from about 10.30am, with music and entertainment until 7.30pm when the event closes.

The live action in Stoke Park starts at 1.30pm. Military highlights include:
